Since 1975 the Office of Mental Health and Addiction Services has been dedicated to the prevention, early intervention, treatment, rehabilitation and support of persons affected by substance abuse.

 

Community Outreach and Education

  • Coordinates and leads the county-wide annual Out of the Darkness Suicide Prevention Walk.
  • Hosts an annual overdose candlelight vigil for family and friends who have lost a loved one.
  • Provides various educational programs to schools, professionals, and the community throughout the year.
The Cumberland County Mental Health & Addictions Board provides public leadership to the county in the development of mental health and substance use services. The board is comprised of a membership that is representative as much as possible of the county’s population.

Mission

To protect, assist, and empower people living with or affected by mental illness and substance use challenges by promoting wellness and recovery in our community through education, collaboration, and partnerships.

Get Involved

The Board encourages anyone in our community who has an interest, idea, or concern to be actively involved by attending its monthly open public meeting. Unless otherwise indicated, the Board Meeting is held the third Tuesday of the month at 2:30pm and is a hybrid open public meeting.
