6/11/2011 - State 4-H Public Presentations Program
Rutgers University will be host to the 2011 State 4-H Public Presentations Program on Saturday, June 11 on the Cook/Douglass Campus in New Brunswick.
This event offers qualified 4-H members an advanced Public Speaking experience. Participants are encouraged to return from the contest and assist younger 4-H members in their county to develop and improve their public speaking skills.
The event will be attended by approximately 75-100 4-H members from throughout New Jersey. Judging will be done by educators and 4-H volunteers. Ribbons and Outstanding Presentation Awards will be given at the close of the program.
To qualify for this State 4-H Event, 4-H members must be in the 8th-13th grade and have received an excellent rating at their County 4-H Public Presentation Contest.
Cumberland County 4-H members who qualified to compete in the State 4-H Public Presentations Program are Gina Ore, Tabitha Camp, Lauren Stiles and Cori Ware from Millville; Courtney Ewing, Zachary Hitchner, Ashley McKishen and Nicole Smith of Bridgeton and Doug Forbes, Heather Koering, Michale Lucchesi and Danea Wint from Vineland. Also, Maegan Curry, Colleen Curry and Dylan Schaeffer of Mays Landing; Ashley Jacobs of Franklinville; Silvana Jester of Pittsgrove; Gina Picciano from Mullica Hill; Cindi Strong of Pennsville; Joseph McDonald from Cedarville and Sarah Sharp of Salem.
The Cumberland County 4-H Program is the youth development program of Rutgers Cooperative Extension, a unit of the New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station. 4-H educational programs are offered to all youth on an age appropriate basis, without regard to race, color, national origin, gender, religion, disability, political beliefs, sexual orientation, or marital or family status.
