7/1/2011 - 4-H Summer Enrichment Program
“Robotics Explorer” 4-H Summer Enrichment Program
“Robotics Explorer” is the theme for the 4-H Summer Enrichment Program scheduled to begin on Monday July 18 and conclude on Friday, July 22. The program will be held from 9:30 AM-4:00 PM daily. This 4-H Summer Enrichment Program will provide an opportunity for boys and girls in grades 4-7, to learn about robotics, develop creative and critical-thinking skills and use their imagination as they invent, develop and build a tankbot. Registration will be accepted until Friday, July 1.
This program will be held at the Office of Emergency Management at 637 Bridgeton Avenue in Deerfield Township. On Friday afternoon, families of the children who participated in the week-long Robotics Explorer 4-H Summer Enrichment Program are invited to participate in a Robotics Skill-A-Thon which includes several interactive stations. Through fun, hands-on activities, families can work together to invent a robot; write instructions on how to build a robot; build a tankbot; perform robotics math; and program a robot to move. The program participants will demonstrate how their robots move through an obstacle course.
The Cumberland 4-H Program of Rutgers Cooperative Extension is a division of the New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station. 4-H educational programs are open to all youth in grades K-13 (one year out of high school) on an age appropriate basis, regardless of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation or disability.
