“AMERICAN RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE”
CUMBERLAND COUNTY, NJ – The American Red Cross is having a Blood Drive in Cumberland County on Tuesday, July 3rd, 2012 from 8:30Am to 1:30PM at the Cumberland County Library. The Cumberland County Library is located at 800 E. Commerce Street, Bridgeton, NJ 08302.
The American Red Cross will be at the County Library for the blood drive and offers a rewards program where blood donors can earn reward club points towards gift certificates that can be used at: Panera Bread, Barnes & Noble, Applebee’s, Regal Cinema, Macy’s, Dave& Busters, Old Navy, AMC Movie Theaters, Outback Steakhouse, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Pier 1 Imports, TheSportsAuthority.com, Ruby Tuesday, Petco, New York & Company, Crate & Barrel, Payless Shoe Source, Cabela’s, Bass Pro Shops, American Airlines, Bath & Body Works, Pep Boys, Gap, Marriott, Sonic, Sears and Hundreds more. Also, by giving blood, you will automatically be entered for a chance to win a $500.00 Grocery Gift Card. Additionally, if Cumberland County reaches our goal during the blood drive on Tuesday a $50.00 gift certificate will be raffled off.

“There’s an Emergency Need for Blood Donors”, said the American Red Cross, in an announcement to the press. The American Red Cross has an emergency need for people to give blood and platelets now. Blood donations are down more than ten percent since the beginning of June, resulting in a deficit of more than 50,000 pints of blood as the summer gets started. The Red Cross asks anyone who is eligible to please consider making a blood donation appointment now. All blood types are needed. Cumberland Count is hosting a Blood Drive to help support the American Red Cross this Tuesday, July 3rd, 2012 at the Cumberland County Library from 8:30Am to 1:30PM, and they ask that you please try to attend and give blood, however if you can’t make it on Tuesday, please call the American Red Cross at: 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visit redcrossblood.org to make an appointment to give blood or find a nearby blood drive.
WHO CAN GIVE
Individuals who are 17 years of age (16 with parental permission in some states), meet weight and height requirements (110 pounds or more, depending on their height) and are in generally good health may be eligible to give blood. People should bring their Red Cross blood donor card or other form of positive ID when they come to donate. It must be at least 56 days since your last blood donation, for you to give blood again.
