Cumberland County Children’s Reading Program
Tuesday, October 9th at 6:30pm Miss Melody will be reading It’s Fall by Linda Glaser and This Year’s Garden by Cynthia Rylant. These stories are all about fall! The weather is changing and so are the trees. Along with the stories, children will be making a mini grass garden using a damp sponge and grass seed. The children gain confidence when they see their garden growing! It may be getting cold outside but that will not stop us from gardening! Afterwards, the group will play the “telephone game”. Miss Melody will sit in a circle with the children and start a silly story. The children whisper the story around the circle and add their own twist to it. The last person tells the story out loud. The silly game will give children a chance to use their imagination and story-telling skills.
