10/1/2012 - Banned Books Week at County Library

Challenged Books on Display at Cumberland County Library

Did you know that Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak and Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird, have been challenged, for their content, in classrooms across America. To see a sampling of other books that have faced the censor’s wrath, including The Grapes of Wrath, come to the Cumberland County Library and take a look in our display case.

Celebrate your “Freedom to Read” by reading a book that has been banned or challenged! Banned Books Week is September 30-October 6, 2012.

The Cumberland County Library, 800 E. Commerce Street, Bridgeton, N.J. is open Monday through Wednesday from 10 AM to 8 PM, Thursday through Saturday from 9AM to 5PM. This library is accessible to people with disabilities. Please call 856-453-2210 ext. 101 for further information.
