5/16/2014 - First Annual Perennial Plant Swap

Now that spring is here, are you thinning out perennials?   Swap your excess plants for new treasures on Saturday, May 31 in the Cumberland County Library lobby. The plant exchange will take place from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Register by calling 856-453-2210 Ext. 101 so the county library knows how many tables to set up.

Share your extra plants, whether flowers or vegetables, annuals or perennials with other gardeners and go home with something new and different. Plants must be labeled and secured in a container, wrapper or plastic bag.

You may have extra lilies of the valley, hostas, vinca or whatever you have that you may want to replace with another plant.

For experienced and beginner gardeners, plant exchanges provide a way to find good homes for their excess plants and perhaps even find something new and unusual for their own gardens.

The Cumberland County Library has a bountiful selection of books on gardening as well as ebooks, DVDs and magazines.

We will have tables set up in the lobby for the plants. If you don't have any plants to exchange but would still like to participate, make a donation to the Cumberland County Library.

You may meet members of the Cumberland County Master Gardeners who may be on hand to give you sage tips on preserving and developing your garden.

Cumberland County Library is located at 800 E. Commerce St. (Route 49), Bridgeton, NJ.  Call 856-453-2210 Ext. 101 to register.
