Cumberland County Library Children’s Programs for Week of January 12

Bridgeton, NJ: Children’s programs are back at Cumberland County Library with exciting new offerings during the winter. This week’s theme is: “Brrrr! It’s Winter Time.” Pre-schoolers and toddlers can join Miss Cindy downstairs in the library’s large meeting room on Wednesday, January 14 at 10:00am for a story and a craft. The featured story selection is “Outside” by Deirdre Gill, where kids will learn the answer to, “What is a dragon doing in the snow?” Also, children will have the opportunity to make handprint snowmen.

On Wednesday at 4:00pm children in grades 1-5 will focus on the topic of “weather” and can help create a tornado in bottle. Participants should each bring 2 small water bottles.

On Saturday, January17 at 10:00am, the preschool and toddlers group will enjoy music and games together. The activities will range from beanbag toss to musical chairs, puppets, and age-appropriate board games.

At 11:30am, children in grades 1-5 can gather in the meeting room to participate in “parachute play” and “freeze dance,” as well as play more board games.

Each program lasts approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. Cumberland County Library is located at 800 E. Commerce St. (Rt. 49), Bridgeton, NJ. Call 856-453-2210 Ext. 124 for further information.
