CHILDREN’S PROGRAMS

Story Time
Thursdays, February 1, 8, 15, 22 & 29 at 10:30 a.m.

Children ages 3-5 and a caregiver can join us as we share stories, songs, movement activities and a craft! Library story times are a fun way to help your child develop skills they will need to be ready to read. Registration is required.

Take Your Child to the Library Day
Saturday, February 3  10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Kids of all ages are invited to celebrate Take Your Child to the Library Day at the Cumberland County Library. Visit the Children’s Department between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to make a bookmark and receive a free gift book! Registration is not required.

Baby/Toddler Time
Mondays, February 5, 12 & 26, 10:30-11 a.m.

FURever As Friends Reading Program
Monday, February 12, 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Children and teens of all ages are invited to come read to a fabulous furry friend! FURever as Friends therapy pet teams will be available to help kids practice their reading. Participants can bring a book from home or choose one at the library. Registration is required. Homeschool Story & STEAM
Wednesday, February 14, 2-3:30 p.m.

Homeschool families are invited to a new monthly program at the Cumberland County Library! Each month we’ll feature a book from our collection and pair it with a STEAM activity. Drum2BFit for Kids!
Thursday, February 15, 6:30 p.m.

Kids ages 3-12 are invited to participate in a fun, high energy program that combines cardio and music while beating a drum to their favorite tunes! Miss Val, a certified cardio drumming instructor, will guide kids through basic movements like squatting, bending, twisting and drumming. This class promotes physical health, boosts mental health and just happens to be a whole lot of fun! All equipment will be provided. Registration is required. Drawing the Future with Jackie Ormes
Saturday, February 24, 11:00 a.m.

Families of children and teens ages 8 and up are invited to celebrate Black History Month and learn about Jackie Ormes, the first published African-American cartoonist! We will read Jackie Ormes Draws the Future, and then create a comic, poem, or LEGO diorama focused on positive change. Dungeons and Dragons for Ages 10-12
Saturday, February 24, 2-4 p.m.

Tween Swiftie Night with Miss Coastal Shore!
Monday, February 26, 6-7 p.m.

Ages 9-12

LEGO Club
Wednesday, February 28, 4-5 p.m.

TEEN PROGRAMS

Teen Volunteer Meeting
Tuesday, February 6, 6-7 p.m.

Teens ages 13-18 are invited to make a difference at the library while earning volunteer time. Members help to plan events for teens and kids, suggest books for the library, and much more. Registration is required. Registration link: https://forms.gle/wJwf5U1vCctX9QnRA

Teen Cake Pop Program
Tuesday, February 13, 6-7:30 p.m.

Pageturners Lounge for Teens
Tuesday, February 20, 6-7:30 p.m.

Teens ages 13-18 are invited to make some time for reading and visit our Pageturners Lounge! Bring a favorite book or borrow one from the library, then spend some time reading and enjoying some snacks. We’ll also have a short, voluntary break where we can talk about what we’re reading. Teen Dungeons and Dragons
Tuesday, February 27 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Teens 13-18 are invited to join our Dungeon Master as he leads us through a monthly D & D adventure. Tabletop/role playing experience is not required and new players are welcome.
