Baby and Toddler Time

Story Time

Thursdays, September 5, 12, 19 & 26, 10:30 a.m. Children ages 3-5 and a caregiver can join us as we share stories, songs, movement activities and a craft! Homeschool Story & STEAM

Wednesday, September 11, 2:30-3:30 p.m. Homeschool families are invited to a monthly program where we feature a book from our collection and pair it with a STEAM activity. This month’s book will be Heroes of the Surf: a Rescue Story Based on True Events written by Elisa Carbone and illustrated by Nancy Carpenter. Family Evening Story Time

Wednesday, September 11, 6:30 p.m. Children 5 and under, their siblings, and caregivers are invited to a new monthly program at the library! Together Time with Appel Farm

Saturday, September 14, 10:30 a.m. Children ages 12 months through Kindergarten and their caregivers are invited to play, explore, discover, and create together! Our journey begins with a shared picture book to park excitement and engagement around a theme. Participants discover hands-on ways to learn, create, and have fun through music, movement, sensory, and art activities. Play clothes are recommended for kids and adults! Seeing Eye Dog Program!

Monday, September 16, 6:30 p.m. Members of the Puppy Power 4-H Club invite you to visit the Cumberland County Library to learn how a Seeing Eye puppy becomes a Seeing Eye guide dog for the blind! Until a Seeing Eye dog is ready for training, he or she lives with a puppy raising or foster family that gives the dog love, gentle guidance, and consistent care. Children ages 9 and over as well as adults can become puppy raisers.

Percy Jackson Family Program!

Saturday, September 21, 1-3 p.m. Welcome to Camp Half-Blood! Families are invited to embark on an adventure inspired by the Olympians universe. Complete challenges, crafts, and experiments from various cabins and become a Hero! This drop-in program is recommended for ages 5 and up and their families and will take place in the Lower Level of the Library. Registration is not required.

Dungeons and Dragons for Ages 10-12

Saturday, September 21, 2-4 p.m. Come learn the basics of character creation, role playing, combat skills, and more of Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition. LEGO Club

Wednesday, September 25, 6-7 p.m. Kids ages 5-12 and their families are invited to our monthly Lego program! Come in and build using our large collection of bricks and minifigures. Wild Robot Book Discussion

Saturday, September 28, 11 a.m. Kids ages 8-12 are invited to read The Wild Robot by Peter Brown, and then join us for a discussion and activity based on the book.

“When robot Roz opens her eyes for the first time, she discovers that she is alone on a remote, wild island. Why is she there? Where did she come from? And, most important, how will she survive in her harsh surroundings?
Roz’s only hope is to learn from the island’s hostile animal inhabitants. When she tries to care for an orphaned gosling, the other animals finally decide to help, and the island starts to feel like home. Until one day, the robot’s mysterious past comes back to haunt her…”

Teen Volunteer Meeting

Tuesday, September 10, 6-7 p.m.
Teens, 13-18

Zine Making for Teens

Tuesday, September 17 , 6-7:30 p.m.

Teen Dungeons and Dragons

Tuesday, September 24, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Teens 13-18 are invited to join our Dungeon Master as he leads us through a monthly D & D adventure. Tabletop/role playing experience is not required and new players are welcome. Pageturners Lounge for Teens

Saturday, September 28, 2-4 p.m.
Teens ages 13-18 are invited to make some time for reading and visit our Pageturners Lounge! Bring a favorite book or borrow one from the library, then spend time reading and enjoying some snacks. Cumberland County Teens Read!

The Cumberland County Teens Read program is an ongoing challenge designed to foster a love of reading in teens ages 13-18. Teens can earn monthly incentives by logging their time spent reading, writing reviews and/or completing activities using the library’s Beanstack app.

CCL Teen Book Battles!

Cumberland County teens ages 13-18 are invited to make their voices heard in our CCL Teen Book Battles! Each month we’ll choose two books in a different genre to battle it out! Teens can vote for their favorite online and suggest a nominee for next month. At the end of the year, we’ll see which book rules supreme and celebrate with an awards ceremony!
