Baby and Toddler Time

Story Time

Thursdays, October 3, 10, 17 & 24, 10:30 a.m.

Homeschool Story & STEAM

Wednesday, October 9, 2:30-3:30 p.m.
Homeschool families are invited to a monthly program where we feature a book from our collection and pair it with a STEAM activity. This month’s book will be Dinosaur Lady: the daring discoveries of Mary Anning, the first paleontologist by Linda Skeers. This program is recommended for school-aged students grades K - 6. Family Evening Story Time

Wednesday, October 9, 6:30 p.m.

Dungeons and Dragons for Ages 10-12

Saturday, October 19, 2-4 p.m.

FURever As Friends Howl-O-Ween Party

Monday, October 21, 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Children and teens of all ages are invited to come read to a fabulous furry friend! FURever as Friends therapy pet teams in costume will be available to help kids practice their reading. Costumes are welcome and everyone will receive a treat! Registration is required. LEGO Club

Wednesday, October 23, 6-7 p.m.

Masquerade Story Time

Thursday, October 31, 10:30 a.m.
Children 6 and younger are invited to a special Masquerade Story Time where we’ll share stories, songs and movement activities. Teen Volunteer Meeting

Tuesday, October 1, 6-7 p.m.
Teens, 13-18
Teens ages 13-18 are invited to make a difference at the library while earning volunteer time. Members help to plan events for teens and kids, suggest books for the library, and much more. Registration is required. Registration link: https://forms.gle/5RU1K5bcEiPFcsKF7

Teen Lock-In with “One Up Games On the Go!”

Friday, October 4, 6 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
Teens, 13-18
Teens ages 13-18 are invited to a free, after hours gaming event hosted by Massachusetts eSport and gaming venue, One Up Games!
Explore virtual worlds with the Oculus Quest, or play the latest titles on Xbox Series S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch! Gaming systems will be set up all over the library and there will be pizza and snacks to eat!
Registration is required for this program, as is a permission slip signed by the teen’s parent or guardian. Permission slips are available in the Children’s Department or online when registering. Teen Chess Night

Teens 13-18 are invited to play a few friendly games of Chess in our Teen Section! We’ll have some sets available, but you are welcome to bring your own. Don’t know how to play? Teen Dungeons and Dragons

Tuesday, October 15, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Teens 13-18 are invited to join our Dungeon Master as he leads us through a monthly D & D adventure. Tabletop/role playing experience is not required and new players are welcome. DIY Slime Night!

Tuesday, October 22, 6-7:30 p.m.

Scary Stories & Snacks!

Tuesday, October 29, 6-7:30 p.m.
Teens 13-18 are invited for an evening of scary stories and spooky snacks…if they dare! We’ll make monster themed personal pizzas and then settle in for some scary stories around the “campfire”. Cumberland County Teens Read!

The Cumberland County Teens Read program is an ongoing challenge designed to foster a love of reading in teens ages 13-18. Teens can earn monthly incentives by logging their time spent reading, writing reviews and/or completing activities using the library’s Beanstack app. For more information, please visit cclnj.org or call the Youth Services Department at (856) 453-2210 Ext. 26105.

CCL Teen Book Battles!

Cumberland County teens ages 13-18 are invited to make their voices heard in our CCL Teen Book Battles! Each month we’ll choose two books in a different genre to battle it out! Teens can vote for their favorite online and suggest a nominee for next month. At the end of the year, we’ll see which book rules supreme and celebrate with an awards ceremony!
