Black History Month Reading Challenge for Kids and Teens at the Cumberland County Library
The Cumberland County Library of Bridgeton, NJ is hosting a Black History Month Reading Challenge for kids and teens from ages 0-18 from February 1st to the 28th. This challenge is in honor of the late librarian Augusta Baker, who became the first black woman to manage all Children’s Services branches of the New York Public Library in 1961.
Participants can register for the Challenge at the Library’s Youth Services desk at 800 East Commerce Street, or online through the Beanstack app. Participants are welcome to read any book(s) of their choice and return their reading log weekly to receive a prize.
