4/25/2025 - May 19 - QPR Training for Parents at County Library

QPR - Question, Persuade, Refer “Youth focused" Training for Parents

Monday, May 19, 6-7:30 p.m.

Adults 18 and older are invited to attend this free, evidence-based suicide prevention training. Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help.

As a QPR-trained Gatekeeper you will learn to:
  • Recognize the warning signs of suicide
  • Know how to offer hope
  • Know how to get help and save a life
All participants receive suicide prevention materials and a certificate of completion.

This class will be taught by Jaime Angelini, the Statewide Director of Suicide Prevention, Crisis Response and Special Projects at the Mental Health Association in NJ (MHANJ). Jaime is a certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor (Adult, Youth and Teen), Suicide Prevention Trainer, Stress First Aid Trainer, Parent Educator, Disaster Response Crisis Counselor and a Certified National Trainer in Skills for Psychological Recovery (SPR).

Registration is required. Registration link: https://forms.gle/JuERgwcfvQ5rpzx26
