4/25/2025 - May 29 - Horseshoe Crabs Presentation at County Library
Horseshoe Crabs: Living Fossils & Shorebird Superheroes
Thursday, May 29, 6:30-7:30pm
Adults 18+ are invited to join us for a presentation from the American Littoral Society! Every May and June, millions of unassuming Atlantic horseshoe crabs, driven by eons of evolution, make their way to the sandy beaches of the Delaware Bay to spawn. We’ll explore this Spring spectacle to learn the ecological importance of horseshoe crabs and their connection to shorebird migration. Then we’ll discuss what the American Littoral Society does to monitor horseshoe crab populations and how they restore coastal habitats for the protection of these incredible creatures.
