SUMMER READING PROGRAM

Cumberland County Library’s summer reading program isn’t just for kids! Challenge yourself to spend more time reading this summer and increase your chances of winning prize drawings at the end! We’ve also added some special programs for adults 18+ that support this year’s artistic theme, “Color Our World”. We hope to see you here!

Do you need help to get ready for the GED test? Or looking to improve your English?

Yoga with Ceci

Wednesdays, July 9 & 23, 10:30-11:30am
One-hour sessions featuring a soft and gentle practice with breath work and flow, appropriate for beginner and intermediate practitioners. Author Talk: William J. Lewis

Thursday, July 10, 6:30-7:30pm
Author William J. Lewis will be discussing his latest published work, Preserving the Pines: New Jersey and the Origins of Environmentalism. Preserving the Pines is a guide to the formation of the Pines we all love so much. This 4th book/guide of his on the Pines completes the 4-volume collection. Mr. Lewis has proven to be a must-read historian, going far beyond what has been written since McPhee's 1967 book The Pine Barrens. This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Cumberland County Library organization. Registration is required; participants must be age 18 or older. Special Summer Movie: Wicked

Saturday, July 19, 1-4pm
The movie being shown is “Wicked,” the story of Elphaba, a young woman with green skin, as she navigates life at Shiz University and forms an unlikely friendship with the popular Galinda. Their bond deepens as they encounter the Wizard of Oz, leading to a series of events that ultimately shape their destinies and transform them into the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good. This movie is rated PG. For this special event, face painting and refreshments will be available, costumes are encouraged, as is singing along with the movie! Registration is encouraged.
