Story Time
Thursdays, April 2, 9, 16, 23 & 30, 10:30 a.m.
Children ages 3-5 and a caregiver can join us as we share stories, songs, movement activities and a craft! Library story times are a fun way to help your child develop skills they will need to be ready to read. Registration is required.

Story Lab: An Open Book Project
Saturday, April 11, 1-2 pm
Children ages 5-8 are invited for fun stories and science experiments! This is the first in a three-part series which will continue on Saturday, May 9 and Saturday, May 30, and is a special Silver Award project organized by members of Girl Scout Troop 94230.

Survival Story Saturdays: An Open Book Project
Saturday, April 11, 3-4 pm
Kids and teens ages 9-13 are invited to explore the book Hatchet by Gary Paulsen and participate in fun, survival activities related to the book! This is the first in a three part series which will continue on Saturday, May 9 and Saturday, May 30, and is a special Silver Award project organized by members of Girl Scout Troop 94230.

FURever As Friends Reading Program
Monday, April 13, 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Children and teens of all ages are invited to come read to a fabulous furry friend! FURever as Friends therapy pet teams will be available to help kids practice their reading. Participants can bring a book from home or choose one at the library. Registration is required. Children ages 2 and younger and a caregiver are invited for stories, songs and fingerplays followed by a play session with toys provided by the Cumberland County Library! LEGO Club
Wednesday, April 29, 6-7 p.m.

Teen Volunteer Meeting
Tuesday, April 7, 6-7:30 p.m.
Teens ages 13-18 are invited to make a difference at the library while earning volunteer time. Members help to plan events for teens and kids, suggest books for the library, and much more. Registration is required. Registration link: https://forms.gle/U5NVLqXwtm1teU1AA

Teen Blackout Poetry Program
Tuesday, April 14, 6-7:30 p.m.
Teens ages 13-18 are invited to celebrate National Poetry Month by creating original blackout poetry at the library. Blackout Poetry is a mixture of poetry and art made by taking discarded pages from a newspaper, magazine, or book, and blacking out the unwanted words to create a poem and sometimes an illustration. Teen “Earth Day” Rain Garden Cleanup with the American Littoral Society!
Tuesday, April 21, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Teens ages 13-18 are invited to earn volunteer time while helping to get the library’s rain garden ready for spring! Michelle Rebilas of the American Littoral Society will give a brief overview of how rain gardens protect the environment, participants will enjoy some pizza and then head outside to clean up! Teen Lock-In “Escape the Upside Down!”
Friday, April 24, 6:30-9:30 p.m.
Teens 13-18 are invited to “Escape the Upside Down” in an after-hours event at the Cumberland County Library!
Attendees will test their skills while participating in “strange” challenges based on a popular TV series set in the 1980s. Pizza will be provided and teens can make their own dessert at our waffle bar.

Registration is required for this program, as is a permission slip signed by the teen’s parent or guardian. Permission slips are available in the Youth Services Department or online when registering. Anyone not registered for the event will not be able to attend. Teen Dungeons and Dragons Program
Tuesday, April 28, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Teens 13-18 are invited to join our Dungeon Master as he leads us through a monthly D & D adventure. Tabletop/role playing experience is not required and new players are welcome. Cumberland County Teens Read!
The Cumberland County Teens Read program is an ongoing challenge designed to foster a love of reading in teens ages 13-18. Teens can earn monthly incentives by logging their time spent reading, writing reviews and/or completing activities using the library’s Beanstack app. For more information, please visit cclnj.org or call the Youth Services Department at (856) 453-2210 Ext. 26105.

Yarn & Darn is a social club for fiber artists of all kinds to work on personal projects, learn from each other, and socialize! Bring your own work-in-progress and have some fun. This is NOT a class. Yoga with Ceci
Wednesdays, April 8 & 22
10:30-11:30am
One-hour sessions featuring a soft and gentle practice with breath work and flow, appropriate for beginner and intermediate practitioners. Eco-dyeing with Flowers Workshop
Thursday, April 23
5:30-7:30 pm
In this workshop for adults 18+, participants will use natural dyes created with flowers to dye fabric from simple dyeing to a tie dye technique. Pieces of pre-mordanted fabric (10x10") will be provided for dyeing, and each participant could go home with several pieces of dyed fabric. Instructor Linda Jackson will lead a conversation on how to use these fabrics in a quilt, as patches for mending, small bags/pouches & other ideas. The Reel Thing

If you love movies and love talking about them, then you’re invited to join Cumberland County Library’s new film discussion club, The Reel Thing, for an afternoon film followed by a thought-provoking discussion. The club will meet on the fourth Saturday of every month, and club members take turns picking the films we’ll watch and discuss at upcoming meetings.
