Summer Reading Program Begins!
July 6 – August 15 (Registration opens June 29)
“Unearth a Story” this summer! The Cumberland County Library is inviting readers of all ages to explore the world of dinosaurs, paleontology, and archaeology as the library presents its 2026 Summer Reading Program!
The program runs July 6 through August 15 and features a wide variety of special events for infants through adults. Activities include story times, S.T.E.A.M. programs, family nights, movie programs, and much more! In addition to attending programs, participants can log their reading for chances to win weekly incentives and prizes. Patrons can register in person at the library or online beginning June 29. Baby and Toddler Time

Family Literacy Night
Wednesday, June 3, 5:30 p.m.
Families with children ages 0-3 are invited to a special Literacy Night at the Cumberland County Library! This event will feature a fun, interactive story time showcasing activities you can do with your little one to help get them ready to read. Light refreshments will be served and eligible families will receive a free literacy SWAG bag provided by a Deerfield School LIFT Grant! Swag bags are available for families with children ages 0-3, as outlined in the LIFT grant. There will also be a raffle for a gift card. Registration is required. Story Time
Thursdays, June 4 & 11, 10:30 a.m.
Children ages 3-5 and a caregiver can join us as we share stories, songs, movement activities and a craft! Library story times are a fun way to help your child develop skills they will need to be ready to read. Registration is required.

FURever As Friends Reading Program

Teen Volunteer Meeting

Teen Volunteer Garden Planting
Tuesday, June 9, 5-6:30 p.m.
Teens ages 13-18 are invited to earn volunteer time by helping with a gardening project at the library! We’ll be helping a local Girl Scout Troop plant native plants in our garden beds. Teen Dungeons and Dragons

Teens 13-18 are invited to join our Dungeon Master as he leads us through a monthly D & D adventure. Tabletop/role playing experience is not required and new players are welcome. Teen Werewolf Game: Full Moon Edition!
Tuesday, June 30, 6-7:30 p.m.
Teens ages 13-18 are invited to play the party game Werewolf and enjoy some snacks. Since it’s the Strawberry Moon we’ll have strawberry shortcake! Werewolf is a fun party game (similar to Mafia) where players try to guess who the secret werewolves among them are before it’s too late. Registration is required. Cumberland County Teens Read!
The Cumberland County Teens Read program is an ongoing challenge designed to foster a love of reading in teens ages 13-18. Friends of the Library Summer Book Sale

The Friends of the Cumberland County Library will hold their Summer Book Sale on Saturday, June 6, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Cumberland County Library, 800 E. Commerce Street, Bridgeton, NJ. Come browse a great selection of books and support the library at the same time.
