Duties: Under direction, conducts the field and office work involved in carrying out specific projects in one or more health education programs; does related work as required. Plans, implements, and organizes public health programs and activities. Leads implements and evaluation of community-based prevention programs. Delivers health education and promotion interventions. Provides and discusses health information. Participates in the development of health education activities. Prepares written and digital materials on public health related issues. Participates in coalition meetings.
Knowledge: Knowledge of the principles and methods of public health. Knowledge of principles and practices of community outreach and engagement as well as health communication. Knowledge of social media and other digital communications methods. Knowledge of presentation techniques. Ability to work in collaboration with community partners and team members. Effective written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking, marketing, and design.
Requirements: Field Rep, Health Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Health Education, Community Education, Nursing, Public Health, or related field.
Health Educator: In addition to the above, 2 years of experience in the associated field (Master’s Degree can be substituted for 1 year experience). Must possess a certification as a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES)
LICENSE: Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey
Hours: Thirty-five (35) per week; Monday through Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm.
Note: Offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of physical fitness screening including drug testing.
