Cumberland County Jail
Starting Rate: $31,000.00
Duties: Under close supervision, completes data entry and oversight of the systems that track incarcerated persons (IP), IP histories, sentences, and bail funds; prepares paperwork upon IP admission and release from the jail; reviews all committing forms for legality and accuracy; tracks incarceration history of IP; tracks/documents fingerprinting paperwork of IP; reviews deferred commitments daily; reviews files, initiates warrant checks, and processes all documents for IP prior to their release; tracks/confirms IP commutation credits, work credits, gap time, and minimum credits; performs routine, repetitive clerical work involving the processing of documents in a variety of functions; may key enter or type various documents from copy, records, tapes, or other recording equipment; does other related duties as required.
Requirements: Ability to use the computer and phone. Ability to follow oral and written directions in a timely and accurate manner. Ability to work independently without direct supervision; Ability to work in a para-military setting. Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with the general public, colleagues, and inmate population. Knowledge of modern office methods to include experience with email and Microsoft Office products. Excellent organizational, analytical, and data entry skills. Experience with jail management systems (specifically BluHorse) preferred. Bilingual a plus.
Hours: 35 hours per week, some weekend hours required.
Note: Offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of physical fitness and drug screenings.
This position is subject to a typing examination in which candidates will be required to demonstrate proficiency in keyboarding or typing 40 net words per minute.
