Salary: $40,000


DEFINITION:  Assists Director by performing varied, advanced clerical and program support functions involving some elements of trouble shooting.

EXAMPLES OF WORK:
Assists in the formulation of effective policies and procedures and related operations for the department.  
Collects and analyzes data needed as a basis for administrative decisions in addition to performing general administrative clerical and related work. 
May directly supervise some designated phases of the clerical and related work involved in maintaining financial and/or personnel records, preparing payrolls, making purchases, compiling statistical and other data, and checking/approving invoices and vouchers.  
Reviews and verifies payroll or personnel records, statements, documents, certificates, or time and attendance records. 
Prepares reports of absences and vacations.  Updates the time clock system with changes.  
Handles correspondence.
Maintains confidential records and files. 
Completes CAMPS form for staff leaves and terminations. 
Maintain trusting relationships with vendors, suppliers, customers and colleagues.
Orders and distributes office supplies and equipment.
Maintains inventory list. 
Administers and keeps records of Drug and Alcohol program for safety sensitive employees. 
Attend meetings on behalf of the Director as requested. 
Conducts special projects as requested. 
Will be required to use various types of electronic and computerized information systems used by the department such as Edmonds, Abila MIP, timeclock, Microsoft Office, and America’s One Stop Operating System.  

REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge and Abilities: 
Knowledge of internal organization and established policies, procedures, and regulations related to the work of the department and county.  Ability to organize assigned work and develop effective work methods. 


Experience:   Five (5) years of experience in clerical work.
