Duties: Under the direction of the Department Head; plans, organizes, and coordinates a program for the utilization of volunteer workers to augment services for local non-profits by effective recruitment and public relation activities.  Responsible to recruit, interview, and assign volunteers according to their aptitude and interest.  Responsible to maintain records, reports, and files and be proficient in grant management.  Develop contacts with social service and other human services resources in the community to implement a volunteer program and to utilize these resources in a coordinated manner to support goals and objectives of the program.  Arranges for appropriate recognition events for volunteers.  Must be highly proficient in public speaking before community groups and have a strong ability to communicate with others.  

Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and two years professional administrative experience in programs which involved either recruitment, selection, training, and development of employees or volunteers or provision of social service, healthcare, educational, welfare, or similar human services or community services.    Or,  Six (6) years of professional administrative experience in programs which involved either recruitment, selection, training, and development of employees or volunteers or provision of social service, healthcare, educational, welfare, or similar human services or community services.  Appointees are required to possess a driver’s license valid in NJ.  

Hours: 35 Hours per week. Monday through Friday 8:30am-4:30pm.  * May need to flex schedule to accommodate events and activities on evenings and weekends as required.
