Starting Salary: $95,000
Duties: Under direction of the County CFO/Treasurer supervises and performs the work involved in the financial affairs of the county and controls the disbursement of monies.

Essential Functions:
• Organizes, develops, directs, and performs the work involved in financial affairs of a county and controls the disbursements of monies.
• Supervises the development, preparation, and installation of the county budget including Grants.
• Directs the keeping of accounts and records.
• Analyzes the accounts and records and prepares statements concerning the financial condition of the county.
• Develops and recommends specific policies regarding the financial problems of the organization.
• Gives suitable assignments and instructions.
• Prepares suitable reports.
• Prepares and supervises the preparation of extensive correspondence relating to financial matters.
• Directs the establishment and maintenance of extensive financial and related records and files.
Knowledge and Abilities:
• Knowledge of the principles, methods, and procedures used in modern accounting and auditing.
• Knowledge of the laws, rules, and regulations governing the installation, operation, and keeping of accounts and their application to specific situations.
• Knowledge of the preparation of involved and detailed accounting and other financial reports containing findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
• Ability to analyze complex financial problems.
• Ability to give suitable assignments and instructions.
• Ability to prepare suitable reports.
• Ability to direct the establishment and maintenance of extensive financial and related records and files.
Requirements:
• Four (4) years of supervisory accounting experience in work involving the installation, operation, and keeping of large-scale systems of accounts.
• Strong knowledge of laws, regulations, and guidelines.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and research skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor's degree including or supplemented by twenty-one (21) credits in professional accounting subjects OR Possession of a valid certificate as a Registered Municipal Accountant or Certified Public Accountant issued by the New Jersey State Board of Accountancy or as a Certified County Finance Officer issued by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs, Division of Local Government Services may be substituted for the above education requirement.
• Technical proficiency in software applications including Office 365 (One-Drive, Teams and Office Apps) and accounting / bookkeeping systems (Edmunds GovTech preferred) and Internet portals
Hours: Regular business hours are Monday - Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm. This position, however, may require work beyond a typical shift.
