PUBLIC NOTICE

TO VOTERS OF CUMBERLAND COUNTY


A PRIMARY ELECTION will be held on June 02, 2026 between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. for the nominations of candidates for public office.

The public offices to be filled are as follows:

One (1) United States Senator

One (1) Member of House of Representatives

One (1) Sheriff

Three (3) Members of Board of County Commissioners

Two (2) Members of County Committee

In addition to the above, candidates for the following municipal offices shall be elected:

COMMERCIAL TOWNSHIP
One (1) Member of Township Committee

DEERFIELD TOWNSHIP
Two (2) Members of Township Committee

DOWNE TOWNSHIP
Two (2) Members of Township Committee

FAIRFIELD TOWNSHIP
One (1) Member of Township Committee

GREENWICH TOWNSHIP
One (1) Member of Township Committee

HOPEWELL TOWNSHIP
Two (2) Members of Township Committee

LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP
One (1) Member of Township Committee

MAURICE RIVER TOWNSHIP
One (1) Member of Township Committee

BOROUGH OF SHILOH
Two (2) Members of Borough Council

STOW CREEK TOWNSHIP
One (1) Member of Township Committee

UPPER DEERFIELD TOWNSHIP

REGISTRATION OF VOTERS


Registration of voters will be conducted at the Office of Registration, 555 Shiloh Pike, Bridgeton, each weekday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Anyone wishing to register by mail can do so by requesting forms by calling (856) 453-5801.

EVENING REGISTRATION OF VOTERS


For the convenience of the voter, the Office of the Commissioner of Registration, 555 Shiloh Pike, Bridgeton will be open the evening of May 12, 2026 from 4:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

VOTING REQUIREMENTS


To vote in the Primary Election a person must be a citizen of the United States, a resident of New Jersey and Cumberland County for the past 30 days and shall have attained the age of 18 years by the General Election November 3, 2026.

ID REQUIREMENTS FOR FIRST-TIME REGISTRANTS BY MAIL ONLY


IF YOU REGISTERED TO VOTE BY MAIL IN THIS COUNTY AFTER JANUARY 1, 2003, and never voted in a federal election in the County, you were required to provide identification. If you did not provide identification before voting for the first time at the polling place YOU MUST SHOW THE BOARD WORKERS IDENTIFICATION TODAY. An identifying document may include, but is not limited to:

Any Valid and Current Photo ID:
  • Driver’s License Student or Job ID
  • Military or other Government ID
  • Store Membership Card
OR, any current document that has your name and address on it, including but not limited to:
  • Bank Statement
  • Pay Check
  • Car registration
  • Rent Receipt
  • Government check or document
  • Sample ballot
  • Non-photo driver’s license
  • Utility bill
If you DO NOT show the board workers any identification, you CANNOT vote in the voting machine. You MUST vote with a provisional paper ballot.

TRANSFER OF REGISTRATION


A voter who is registered in one election district and who moves to another residence in Cumberland County should transfer his or her registration. This is accomplished by informing the Commissioner of Registration in writing. Such notices must be signed by each voter. Change of Residence forms can be obtained at the office of the Board of Elections and Municipal Clerks.
