Cumberland County's website made the 2009 “Top Picks” list of websites by MuniNetGuide, a comprehensive guide and directory of websites that features access to municipal-related information and resources.
The County received honorable mention for posting information about its current budgetary challenges and providing the public with an opportunity to view the various scenarios for unions to consider as the County tries to avert layoffs and furloughs.

Freeholder Director Louis N. Magazzu said he was delighted to get the news and credited the team of County employees who are charged with development and implementation of the website.

“I'm not surprised that the County website has been singled out in such a positive way,” said Magazzu. “This easy to use tool offers information and links to a myriad of services, and is regularly updated and maintained by a team of dedicated County employees specifically selected for their skill in this area. To them go the honors.”

Top Picks are websites chosen by MuniNetGuide for their outstanding content. MuniNetGuide ranked Cumberland County among the first to offer concrete strategies and figures on its website. The information link on the main home page outlines potential strategies and savings presented to union representatives during meetings in December. The public may review the 2010 Proposed Budget Cuts by visiting cumberlandcountynj.gov.
