Following a one-year hiatus that was used to assess and expand the program, it is entering its 11th year. The nine-month program gives established and new and emerging leaders a broad understanding of public issues, civic challenges and the community's role in solving problems, according to Thomas Isekenegbe, college president and a 2002 graduate of the program.

Additional programs are being developed. A monthly program that begins in September, Leadership Cumberland County features day-long sessions that focus on education, criminal justice, economic development, cultural diversity and governance.

Tuition is $700 and covers all program expenses, including a two-day retreat on Monday, September 26th and Tuesday, September 27th. Scholarships are available.
