** UPDATE **
Jose Rodriguez Turned Himself In At The
Bridgeton Police Department Tuesday, July 19th.

The Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office is searching for the man they believe killed a city man Friday afternoon.

Members of the Prosecutor's Office responded to a home on the 100 block of Giles Street after receiving reports of a shooting there. Andre Harris, whom police identified as the victim, was taken to South Jersey Healthcare's Bridgeton Health Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Jose Rodriguez, of Bridgeton, is sought in the shooting death Friday of another city resident.
Jose R. Rodriguez turned himself in Tuesday afternoon around 1 p.m.

Investigators say Jose Rodriguez, 21, is a suspect in the shooting. Harris and Rodriguez had an altercation at the Giles Street residence when Rodriguez allegedly shot Harris at close range. Rodriguez fled the scene on a red mountain bike. The weapon has not been located.

Rodriguez is described as 5 feet, 10 inches tall, with a thin goatee and multiple tattoos on his upper body. His last known address is on the 500 block of North Pearl Street.

Rodriguez should be considered armed and dangerous. Warrants for his arrest have been generated for murder and weapons-related offenses. Sheriff Robert A. Austino asks anyone who comes in contact with Jose Rodriguez to call the police immediately. You should contact state or local police, or the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department TIP-LINE at (856) 451-0625. Citizens are reminded not to approach, confront, or detain fugitives.
