Photography Contest Winners And Reception

The Cumberland County Library is pleased to announce the winners of the photography contest. The theme of the exhibition is “Seen on a Summer Day”. Participants shared memories through photographs of their vacations or stay-cations and the judges had a difficult time selecting winners from the excellent photographs that were submitted.
First place winner is John P. Oesterling of Bridgeton for his photograph entitled “East Point Lighthouse”. Mr. Oesterling is the recipient of the $50.00 gift certificate made possible by T & F Camera of Vineland.
The second place prize, a $30.00 gift certificate from T & F Camera of Vineland, goes to Suzan R. Lewis of Fairton for her photograph “Frisco Fun”.
Our third place winner is Michael Schuelke of Fairton. He will receive a $25.00 gift certificate from T & F Camera for his photograph “Zoo Duck”.
Honorable Mention goes to the following participants:
- Sharon Mollick for “Looking at You, Looking at Me"
- Lucas McCormick for “4th of July Flash” and
- Beth Barrickman for “Star-Spangled Philadelphia”
Congratulations to the winners and thanks to all the entrants for your thoughtful interpretations of our theme. Thanks also to our judges, Paul B. Simon, Jennifer Carll-Simon and Cathy Cramer.
Photographs are on display in the Hall/Gallery on the lower level of the library. This exhibition will be in place until February.
An opening reception will be held on Wednesday, November 30th at 6:00 PM. Join us in celebrating the talented photographers we have here in Cumberland County. All are invited to come by and congratulate the participants and meet the winners.
Cumberland County Library is located at 800 E. Commerce St., Route 49, Bridgeton, New Jersey. The phone number is 856-453-2210 ext. 100. The Library hours are Monday through Wednesday, 9 AM to 8:45 PM and Thursday through Saturday, 9 AM to 4:45 PM.
The library is accessible to all, with a ramp at the main entrance, automatic sliding glass doors and an elevator accessing all levels.
