Shuttle Bus Service To Launch
During Courthouse Parking Deck Construction

Parking plans have been unveiled for Cumberland County Courthouse employees, jurors and others who will be affected during the construction of the new 300 space parking deck on Vine Street.

Beginning Monday, March 5th, remote parking and shuttle bus service will go into effect between the courthouse at Broad and Fayette Street and the Cumberland County Administration Building at 790 E. Commerce Street, a ride that should take about 10 minutes.
The service is available to everyone who works or has business at the courthouse. Parking will be in specially designated areas at the administration building.
The shuttles will run every 20 minutes (every 30 off peak), beginning with a 7:30 a.m. departure from the administration building and ending with the final bus from the courthouse at 4:50 p.m. A shelter will be available at the Administration Building parking lot in case of inclement weather.
“We designed the plan to get everyone back and forth efficiently and without too much inconvenience during construction,” said Freeholder Sam Fiocchi, chairman of Public Property and Personnel. “We want to give employees, jurors and all other visitors an easy parking option, rather than having to search for spaces in the courthouse neighborhood.”
The remote parking and shuttle service is expected to be in effect until at least Wednesday, October 31st when the parking deck construction is complete.
“Getting to the courthouse during the next eight months will take just a little longer,” said Freeholder Director Carl Kirstein. “But when construction is over, we’ll have a new parking deck that will improve access to the courthouse for everyone.”
