Cumberland County Library Awarded Book Collection

   Cumberland County Library has been awarded the twenty-fifth annual New Jersey Council for the Humanities (NJCH) Book Award Collection. The Council provides the book collections annually to five noteworthy institutions that have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to the communities they serve. Twenty four titles were nominated this year by publishers from across the country. The book collection is designed to demonstrate the extraordinary breadth of the humanities and the insights of many gifted authors. Titles include Cranbury: A New Jersey Town from the Colonial Era to the Present by John Whiteclay Chambers III,  Jacket: The Trials of a New Jersey Criminal Defense Attorney by John W. Hartmann, and The Book of Life: Selected Jewish Poems, 1979-2011 by Alicia Suskin Ostriker.The five winning libraries will be among the organizations and individuals recognized at NJCH’s annual Awards Event which this year will take place on October 30 at the New Jersey Law Center in New Brunswick.

   NJCH is a nonprofit organization funded primarily by the National Endowment for the Humanities, with additional support from private and corporate funders.
