5/27/2016 - NJ Association of Counties Cook-Off Challenge Winners!

 

Cumberland County Freeholder Deputy Director Darlene Barber and some of the Culinary Arts Students and Instructors that participated in bringing home 4 gold medals from the New Jersey Association of Counties Cook-Off Challenge that took place on Friday, May 20, 2016.

The Cumberland County Board of Chosen Freeholders recognized the students
during the May 24, 2016 Monthly Meeting.

Cumberland County Technical Education Center served a Black Pepper and Molasses Short Rib with home- made root beer.
The students won Gold in the People's Choice Award Gold in the NJ Association of Counties Judges Taste Award Gold in the Professional Chefs Taste Award Gold in the Professional Chefs Food Presentation Award

Taking home 4 Gold Medals is unprecedented in the history of the NJAC Challenge.

In addition to the Culinary Arts Program, the Welding and Carpentry Students also collaborated on the project with constructing the display station for the event. The students who participated are listed below:
