County Auction Nets Thousands
Bridgeton, NJ – Cumberland County Government held two auctions this year and collected a combined total of approximately $60,000.00.
County Administrator Ken Mecouch said, “The County held an auction on Saturday October 8, 2016 and again on Thursday, November 17, 2016. The Auction is a vehicle to allow the County to divest itself of surplus and un-needed property. The Local Public Contracts Law requires government property to be sold by either sealed bids or by public auction”.
The Administrator said, “In my 39 years of time here at the County, this is only the second time that our sales ever reached $60,000. I want to personally thank our Purchasing Director Dave DeWoody and his staff as well as our Public Works Department and Building and Grounds for a job well done. Preparing for a County Auction is a big job that takes a considerable amount of time and organization.”
