CUMBERLAND COUNTY, NEW JERSEY (March 21, 2021) Cumberland County Commissioner Director Joseph Derella wants seniors to know that there are multiple ways for them to receive COVID-19 vaccinations and there is help for those struggling with the process. Derella stated, “Through our County Website (cumberlandcountynj.gov), we provide detailed information on vaccinations for seniors.” Derella added, “While the online registration process is the preferred method to schedule a vaccination, it is important for seniors who lack the ability to access online registration to know that the Cumberland County Office on Aging & Disabled along with the Vineland Health Department are there to help.”
Derella stated, “Eligible individuals who live in Cumberland County, are over the age of 60 and lack internet or computer access, can contact the Office on Aging for assistance at (856) 453-2220 and can receive transportation assistance through the Cumberland Area Transportation System (CATS) by calling (856) 691-7799.” Derella added, “Senior Citizens who live in Vineland, are over the age of 60 and without internet and computer access can contact the Vineland Health Department for assistance at (856) 405-4603, Monday-Friday between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.”
For those with internet access and computer capability, an appointment for vaccination can be obtained from the Cumberland County Department of Health by logging on to www.ccdoh.org and completing the registration process. Seniors also have the option to register with the State of New Jersey to schedule an appointment with Inspira Health Network as well as designated CVS, Rite Aid, and Shop Rite Pharmacies in southern New Jersey by logging onto https://covidvaccine.nj.gov/. The State of New Jersey has established a vaccine appointment hotline at (855) 568-0545.
Director Derella encouraged seniors who are struggling with the process to call the Office of the Aging stating, “We do not want seniors to go unvaccinated simply because they are unable to register online.” Derella concluded, “Now that more vaccine is becoming available, we want to make sure that every senior who wants a vaccine gets a vaccine as soon as possible.”
