CUMBERLAND COUNTY, NEW JERSEY (April 7, 2021) On April 9, 2021, the Cumberland County Department of Health will conduct a COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic administering the one dose Johnson and Johnson vaccine. Vaccinations are by appointment only from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and may be scheduled online at www.cumberlandcountynjvaccination.org. The CCDOH encourages those interested in the vaccination, but are unsure of whether they are eligible; to visit https://covid19.nj.gov/ as eligibility has recently expanded.
Joseph Derella, Director of the Cumberland County Board of Commissioners, stated, “The availability of the one dose J&J Vaccine will greatly expand the opportunity for our residents to get vaccinated.” Derella continued, “As supplies of the J&J Vaccine increase, we anticipate holding these one-dose clinics on a regular basis.” Derella called the availability of the Johnson and Johnson a “game changer” explaining, “The one-dose J&J vaccine is highly effective in preventing serious illness and death due to COVID-19 and presents an opportunity to vaccinate large numbers of people quickly.”
The Cumberland County Department of Health will also continue to offer Moderna two-dose vaccination clinics every Tuesday, with new appointments being posted on Thursdays at 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Appointments may be scheduled online at www.ccdoh.org. Director Derella concluded, “The Cumberland County Department of Health has done an outstanding job of both acquiring and administering vaccinations. Our clinics have been well run and efficient and we are anxious and ready to expand them as additional vaccines becomes available.”
