3/8/2022 - NJ State Police Auto Theft Task Force Expansion
The Office of the Acting Attorney General, Matthew Platkin, asked that we share with you the information below concerning the expansion of the NJ State Police Auto Theft Task Force.

In 2021, New Jersey experienced a 22% increase in auto thefts compared to 2020. Addressing this serious problem is a priority for Acting AG Platkin and is part of the Murphy Administration’s efforts to make the state safer for all New Jerseyans.

Yesterday, Acting AG Platkin and New Jersey State Police Superintendent Colonel Patrick Callahan announced the expansion of the New Jersey State Police Auto Theft Task Force. In addition, Acting AG Platkin will also make available up to $125,000 in federal Justice Assistance Grant funds to ensure that the Task Force maximizes its capabilities.
