Cumberland County Department of Veterans Affairs to Present Seminar “Navigating the Benefits Maze”

BRIDGETON – Navigating the Federal VA benefits system can be an overwhelming and complicated task for veterans and their dependents when seeking to understand eligibility and application processes.

The Cumberland County Board of Commissioners realize the importance of not only providing services to our local veterans, but also providing essential education to assist in understanding how the process works and busting the myths surrounding it.

Cumberland County Veteran Affairs Director Diana Pitman, an Army Veteran with 15 years of experience as a VSO, will be presenting a seminar explaining the VA Benefits Administration, the rationale behind the process, and information that veterans and dependents should know that will aid in easing frustrations and understanding the complexities of the claims process.

The seminar will be held at Vineland City Hall on Monday , 20 October, starting at 5:30pm and concluding at 8pm. There will be time for questions at designated times within the seminar and at the end. This is not a claims clinic so the Department asks that attendees do not ask specific questions regarding their own claims. The Department of Veterans Affairs office is always available to assist with your claims by calling 856-453-2239.

Commissioner Director James Sauro stated, “it is of utmost importance to our Board of Commissioners, that we provide the best services to our county veterans. Education is power and we are excited to offer this opportunity to learn more about the VA processes that decides eligibility for benefits our veterans have may have earned through their military service.”

We invite interested veterans, their families, and advocates to join us for this event.

For more information or questions, please contact the County Department of Veterans Affairs at 856-453-2239.
