Commissioner Art Marchand

portrait MarchandArt Marchand was born and raised in Cumberland County, New Jersey. His family has been proud residents of Hopewell Township for several generations. Mr. Marchand grew up in Hopewell Township, graduating from Cumberland Regional High School in 1996. He then went on to obtain his B.A. from Rowan University in 2000. After college, he attended Rutgers University School of Law where he graduated with a J.D. in 2003.

After law school, Mr. Marchand completed a one-year clerkship with a New Jersey Appellate Court Judge. Once the clerkship was completed, he opened his own law practice in Bridgeton, New Jersey where he has been practicing law for the past 19 years. As a small business owner, Mr. Marchand maintains a very diverse law practice. He is experienced in many different areas of the law. He has been a member of the Cumberland County Bar Association since opening his practice.

Mr. Marchand is also a very strong advocate for education. He was elected to the Hopewell/Shiloh Board of Education for three terms, serving nine years total. He was appointed Vice President of the Board in 2022. He was elected as the Hopewell Township representative to the Cumberland Regional High School Board of Education. Currently Mr. Marchand continues to run his law office and resides in Hopewell Township with his wife and three children.
