CATS (Cumberland Area Transit System)

A SERVICE OF THE CUMBERLAND COUNTY OFFICE ON AGING AND DISABILITY SERVICES

The Cumberland County CATS Program provides bus transportation to county residents who are aged 60 or older; Veterans; persons with disabilities; and the general public.

Demand response bus service is provided Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to locations within Cumberland County.

To ride CATS

  • Call the dispatch office at 691-7799 at least two days in advance of when you need the ride.
  • Normal reservation calls can be placed between 9:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
  • Call between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. for cancellations and medical emergencies or same-day and prior-day reservations which can be granted only on a space available basis.

The Cumberland Area Transit System provides peace of mind by offering a lifeline to resources with safe and reliable transportation for the residents of Cumberland County.

Funding

Funding to operate this transportation service is made in part through grants with New Jersey Transit. A draft of the application to N.J. Transit for Fiscal Year 2024 application are available for view.
