Visitation Rules & Regulations

CUMBERLAND COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS
  1. Only the names of approved visitors listed on the visit form will be permitted to visit.
  2. Non-Contact visits shall be no less than 15 minutes in length.
  3. Conversation with other incarcerated persons visitors is strictly prohibited and may terminate your visiting privileges.
  4. All incarcerated persons MUST be fully dressed in a departmental issued uniform.
  5. All incarcerated persons must have CCDOC approved ID on their possession to receive a visit.
  6. No head rags or tee shirts are permitted.
  7. Only one (1) visit per incarcerated person per day will be permitted.
  8. Only county sentenced incarcerated persons with a sentence of sixty (60) days or more state sentenced incarcerated persons will be permitted a contact visit.
  9. All visitors must present proper identification. Birth certificate may be required for children.
  10. All visitors are required to place their personal belongings in the lockers provided prior to entering the contact visit area.
  11. No person who is obviously intoxicated or under the influence of any substance will be admitted into the facility.
  12. No person who has been previously found smuggling contraband into the facility or implicated in a jail escape plan will be admitted.
  13. Any person who becomes unruly, disruptive or disorderly during a visit will be removed from the facility.
  14. Visitors are responsible for the conduct for the conduct of their children while within the facility. Children who become disruptive will result in the termination of the visit.
  15. No visit will be terminated without authorization from the on-call Captain, Warden, or Director.
  16. No one who has been released from this facility within the last year will be permitted to visit.
  17. A visitor will not be admitted if he/ she is currently under any State or County regulated pre-release program such as S.L.A.P., E.M.P., Parole, etc.
  18. A visitor accused of any rule infraction may be barred from future visits as determined by the Director, Warden, or Captain.
  19. All incarcerated persons and visitor will remain seated for the duration of the visit.
  20. Proper dress is required at all times. No brief or excessively revealing clothing will be permitted (Halter tops, tube tops, bathing suits, miniskirts, etc.).
  21. No bare feet permitted.
  22. The exchange of any item between an incarcerated person and visitor is strictly forbidden unless approved by the officer in charge. Anyone who tried to bring contraband into the jail will be prosecuted and the incarcerated person may lose visiting privileges.
  23. Any visitor or other person who violates any law on jail property will be charged and prosecuted.
  24. All incarcerated persons will be searched by the on-duty officer before being returned to their housing units after visits with NO EXCEPTIONS. This may include a stripe search.
  25. Incarcerated persons must conduct themselves in an orderly manner or the visit will be terminated.
  26. Children must remain orderly and quiet at all times.
  27. Incarcerated persons visitors are subject to be searched.
  28. Appropriate attire and shoes are mandatory. Inappropriate clothing shall include, but is not limited to:
    a. Any type of clothing made of sheer, transparent, or mesh like material;
    b. Dresses or tops with thin straps that expose chest area in any manner;
    c. Any type of clothing which reveals the stomach or midriff area;
    d. Shorts, dresses, skirts, or other similar garments that are more than two (2) inches above the knee.
    e. Any other type of clothing that is suggestive or revealing in any way shall be prohibited.
  29. Personal items must be secured before visiting.
    a. Personal items (coats, umbrellas, strollers, purses, diaper bags, oversized bags, etc.,) are prohibited in the visiting area.
    b. Jail staff are not responsible for lost, stolen, or misplaced personal items.
  30. All incarcerated persons’ visits are scheduled according to their assigned housing unit. It is the responsibility of the incarcerated person to inform visitors of their location, and times designated.
  31. You must follow the rules and regulations for incarcerated person visiting. If you violate any rule or regulation, your visitation privileges can be suspended or revoked.
  32. The length or frequency of the visits shall be imposed only to avoid overcrowded conditions in the visiting area, when conditions and staffing permit.
