Cumberland County Military Service Medal
The Cumberland County Military Service Medal recognizes local Veterans’ who honorably served their country and their county. Under the guidance of the Cumberland County Veterans’ Commission, a design was selected incorporating the official County flag. It depicts the County Liberty Bell surrounded by 14 stars, representing each of the County’s municipalities. It also includes the inscribed date of 1748, which is the year the Cumberland County was founded.
The Board of County Commissioners present 50 medals each year at the annual "Military Honors Event" hosted by Rowan College of South Jersey - Cumberland Campus. Nominate your Veteran today!
Application
Eligibility Criteria
- Character of Discharge must be Honorable.
- Veteran was a resident of Cumberland County at the time of entry into service.
OR
- Veteran Settled in Cumberland County after active duty and established domicile of at least two years immediately preceding medal application.
